Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. While in Queen Elizabeth you get a chance to sight over 95 mammal species including the classic big game, 10 primate species including the endangered chimpanzees, 600 bird species and various kinds of floral and plant life.

In addition to that, this gorilla wildlife safari is also an opportunity to encounter one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests – the eminent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, dating back to over 25,000 years of existence. Your 5 Days Wildlife and Gorilla Trekking Safari Itinerary

Day 1Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

We hope you are excited for the first day of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari as you approach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is about 8 – 9 hours long thereby expect to have your lunch enroute. The most thrilling thing about this road trip though is a stop at the equator before continuing to check into your lodge at Bwindi.

Day 2Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest

It is time for some action at Bwindi for the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari. Just after an early morning breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for a short briefing and then you will be led away by a ranger in a group of 8 to trek Gorillas through the thick under-growth of the forest until you come before the apes’ hideout.

Take some pictures within 8 – 10 meters away from the gorillas as they go on about their day to day lives without a care of your presence. You will watch them play and feed their young and also pick ticks off each other. Enjoy a packed bush lunch before heading back to your lodge for dinner and to chill the evening away preparing for more of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari.

Day 3Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and have a game drive

The home of Uganda’s tree climbing Lions is around the corner as you board the safari vehicle to make it to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, meet the tree climbing Lions of the Ishasha sector along with other wildlife.

You will have lunch, and then embark on an afternoon game drive which will last takes about 2 – 3 hours with wild treats of animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Leopards and Uganda Kobs among others. And later you will  transfer to your lodge for a dinner and an over night stay.

Day 4Game drive in the park – Boat cruise on Kazinga channel

You will head out to the renowned Kasenyi plains with an experienced game ranger in the early morning after breakfast. The plains are a mass of African savannahs known for harboring the largest concentration of game as compared to any other section in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Besides being a habitat to big game and predators, the plains harbor various species of wetland birds.

You will head back to your lodge in the early afternoon to have lunch and a brief rest before going for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The launch cruise along the channel is one of the most popular safari activities in Park. You get to sit back and enjoy the sight of elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, kobs and large herds of hippos on the riverbanks.

Day 5Return to Kampala – end of safari

After a safe drive through the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, it is finally time to head home. This day marks the end of 5 days Gorilla and Wildlife Uganda safari. Get back in the mood for a road trip to Kampala through local communities, taking a detour to a designated town for lunch.
