The second day of your 3 days Kidepo national park wild safari will begin with you having breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the park’s famous Narus valley. The valley attracts a high concentration of wildlife because of its water sources. A guided game drive through this prized area is your chance to see the; bat-eared Fox, aardwolf, striped hyena, caracal, klipspringer, cheetah, hunting dog, greater and lesser duku, among other carnivores species unique to Kidepo.
The other great mammals to see on this wild safari include; the African elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffalo, bushbucks, zebras, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest and Bush babies. You will also have a chance to sight the Kidepo and Narus rivers.
After Having lunch, you will embark on a cultural trail to the native Karamojong community. A wild safari to Kidepo is incomplete without encountering the nomadic Karamojongs. Cattle keeping and pastoralism is their life.
You will see their manyattas – kraals, the grinding stones, the local defence fences, and their cultural dance – edonga, among other things. You will be inspired by their culture and way of life. You will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight in the late evening.
