Your 6 Days Gorilla and Wildlife Safari in Uganda Itinerary

Day 1Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

We hope you are excited for the first day of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari as you approach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is about 8 – 9 hours long thereby expect to have your lunch enroute. The most thrilling thing about this road trip though is a stop at the equator before continuing to check into your lodge at Bwindi.

Day 2Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest

It is time for some action at Bwindi for the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari. Just after an early morning breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for a short briefing and then you will be led away by a ranger in a group of 8 to trek Gorillas through the thick under-growth of the forest until you come before the apes’ hideout.

Take some pictures within 8 – 10 meters away from the gorillas as they go on about their day to day lives without a care of your presence. You will watch them play and feed their young and also pick ticks off each other. Enjoy a packed bush lunch before heading back to your lodge for dinner and to chill the evening away preparing for more of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari.

Day 3Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and have a boat cruise

The home of Uganda’s tree climbing Lions is around the corner as you board the safari vehicle to make it to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, meet the tree climbing Lions of the Ishasha sector along with other wildlife.

After your lunch at the lodge, converge at the banks of the Kazinga Channel where you will set off for an afternoon voyage on this fresh water channel joining lakes Edward and George. The banks are often a meeting point for animals seeking to quench their thirst, Hippos hiding from the hot sun and Crocodiles waiting to catch prey. Return to your lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 4Early morning game drive and a transfer to Fort-Portal

The Kasenyi sector in the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park is where you will be headed for a thrilling early morning game drive on this fourth day of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari. The activity takes about 3 – 4 hours with wild treats of animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Leopards and Uganda Kobs among others.

After your lunch, you will then embark on a transfer to Fort Portal with an option of undertaking the crater lakes visit and a nature walk, The crater lakes and beautiful scenery were formed as a result of vulcanicity.

Day 5Transfer to Murchison Falls and do an afternoon boat cruise

Set off very early in the morning immediately after breakfast for Murchison Falls National park with some cool sites along the way; stopping to have some lunch in a designated town on the way. Upon arrival, transfer straight away to Paraa for an afternoon boat cruise on this fifth day of the 6 days Gorilla and Big 5 wildlife safari.

The boat cruise takes off from Paraa where endless hippos and crocodiles are immersed into the water to the base of Murchison Falls. You might have to ready yourself for the loud roar of the water as it crashes into rock in the devil’s cauldron below. After taking magnificent pictures of the waterfall against the setting sun, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 6Departure - Early Morning Game Drive and Rhino Tracking

Wake up to an early breakfast and get settled into your safari vehicle for a game drive through the park. There are about 76 mammals in the park so be excited to catch some Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, Lions, Uganda Kobs, Kuddu, Defassa waterbuck, Oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, bushbuck, Warthogs and Hyenas. Enjoy some bird sightings as well.

After this mind-blowing experience in the wild, a departure from Murchison Falls National Park is due as you set off for Kampala via the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track some Rhinos and also see some Warthogs and birds before heading to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
