Boomu Community Campsite

Quick facts: Location: near the park's southern gate, same site as Boomu Women's Group Bandas · Setup: bring your own tent, grass-field pitch in the garden

Overview

This is the camping option at the Boomu Women's Group site — the same community-run cooperative, same garden setting near the park's southern gate, but for travellers bringing their own tent rather than booking a banda. It's a genuinely well-reviewed budget option: a huge avocado tree, gardens full of birdlife, and the same fresh, home-cooked meals as the banda guests.

Location and access

Directly by the road near the park's southern gate — visible from the road itself, so straightforward to find, though guests note there's no external lighting around the pitch area, so bring your own light source.

What's on site

A grass-field camping area, shared facilities, home-cooked local meals (including vegetarian on request), a craft shop, and the same community activities available to banda guests — cooking demonstrations, weaving, and a village walk.

Best for

Budget campers wanting a genuinely community-supporting, well-reviewed pitch close to the park's southern gate.
