Pakuba Safari Lodge has genuine history — originally built in the 1970s as a state lodge, it fell into disuse before being renovated into today's mid-range property. It sits on the park's northern side near Tangi Gate, putting it closer to the northern game tracks than any other lodge on this list, and it's directly served by its own airstrip for fly-in guests.
Being fully inside the park boundary on the Albert Nile's eastern bank means no additional entry fees for early morning drives, and rooms with river-facing balconies where wildlife — giraffe, warthog, baboons — regularly passes close to the lodge itself.
A swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and conference room, with family suites designed for groups travelling with children.
Families and groups wanting comfortable mid-range accommodation with strong access to the park's northern game-viewing areas, or travellers flying in via Pakuba Airstrip.
