Inside Murchison Falls National Park, the river is generally referred to as the Victoria Nile — the stretch flowing from Lake Victoria through the falls and into Lake Albert. The Albert Nile is the name given to the same river's continuation north of Lake Albert, as it flows on toward South Sudan. Within the park itself, "Albert Nile" is also used loosely to describe the riverside stretch along the Albert Track, one of the north bank's principal game-viewing routes.
The Albert Track, which runs along this shoreline, is widely considered one of the most scenic routes in the park — open water views, acacia forest patches, and reliable sightings of animals coming down to drink or swim. It's also a strong birding stretch, with woodland species like black-billed barbet and several bee-eater species recorded along the acacia stands near the Queen's Track junction.
