Murchison Falls National Park itself holds four of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo — all with healthy, regularly-sighted populations on the north bank savanna. Rhino is the exception: Uganda's wild rhino population exists only at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, roughly halfway between Kampala and the park, so a genuine "Big Five" trip means combining a Murchison Falls safari with a Ziwa stop, not visiting the park alone.
Elephant and buffalo — seen on the large majority of game drives, often in the first hour. Lion — good odds across a 2–3 day stay, though not guaranteed on any single drive; prides are tracked and sightings shared by radio between guides. Leopard — the hardest of the four to see reliably; elusive and often spotted resting in trees rather than moving in the open. Rhino (at Ziwa) — very high odds on a dedicated tracking walk; multiple sightings in a single visit are common.
